Tata Zest production starts; launching next month

Tata Motors is set to launch the much-awaited Zest compact sedan in the country. The bookings for the sedan have already been started, and now the company has also started the production. The homegrown automaker recently rolled out the first batch of the upcoming compact sedan at the Tata-Fiat plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. It is expected that Tata Motors will launch the Zest compact sedan by early next month.



The Tata Zest compact sedan will be offered with two engine options- a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel motor. This petrol version of the sedan is capable of developing of developing a top power output of 89bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm. The Revotron engine offers multi-drive models- Sports, Economy and City. Power is transmitted to front wheels of the car via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The oil burner is the 1.3-litre Multi-Jet engine that churns out a maximum power output of 89bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. Moreover, the Zest compact sedan is the country’s first ever diesel powered car to feature automated manual transmission.

Tata Motors betting big on the Zest compact sedan to regain its lost market share. This model is loaded with several high end features such as EPAS with active return function and speed sensitive power steering developed by ZF. It also gets an advanced infotainment system including Harman infotainment system with 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, smart voice recognition and many more. If media reports are to be believed, Tata Motors is planning to offer a warranty of six years on the Zest for the first few months. This scheme includes a three-year standard warranty and a three year extended warranty. Adding to it, the company will also provide 24×7 roadside assistance services.
